Some FAQ’s

  • What is the thickness of a hot dip galvanizing coating?
Generally, the thickness of a hot-dip galvanizing coating is directly proportional to the thickness of steel i.e., thicker the steel, thicker the galvanizing layer.

Here are some of the standard measures in terms of microns,

    • For a < 1.5mm thick steel, 45 microns of hot dip galvanizing shall be required.
    • For 1.5mm - 3 mm thick steel, 55 microns of hot dip galvanizing shall be required.
    • For 3mm – 6 mm thick steel, 70 microns of hot dip galvanizing shall be required.
    • For a 6 mm thick steel, 85 microns of hot dip galvanizing shall be required.
    • Additionally, the area and weather conditions play a major role in deciding the type of galvanized steel required.
  • What are the Components of Crash Barrier?
Crash barriers are basically road safety products that are used to prevent vehicles from dashing against walls or buildings. It is made up of the following basic components mentioned below: W Beams,Posts & Spacer,Fasteners.
  • Which metal is coated on iron in galvanizing?
Zinc is generally coated over iron to enhance the anti-corrosive property of the metal. It is done through the process of hot-dip galvanizing where a steel end or iron is immersed in molten zinc at least 5 to 6 times to ensure a thick coating of zinc over the metallurgical structure.
  • What is galvanizing service for?
Galvanizing services refer to zinc coating done over a steel rod. It is generally done to protect the steel rod from unfavorable weather conditions and increase its lifespan. These days many companies offer galvanizing services intending to increase the performance of steel.
